The Senior Spartan Team definitely represented
the Owensboro Marlins well and made their mark at the
Lakewood Valley Triathlon this past Saturday in
Whitesville. The Spartans dominated the half-mile
swim portion of the triathlon in all 4 categories: Male,
Female, and Relays finishing first in the swim leg!!!
The Spartans exited the water
1-2-3 on the Men's side of the competition led by
Logan Wetzel, Will Alvey and Brock Bedingfield.
Mackenzie Morris was first out of the water
for the women, while Cameron Quisenberry was the
first relay member out of the water and Kate
Hornaday was the first female relay swimmer to complete
the swim.
Logan finished as Overall
Runner-Up, while Will, Brock and Mackenzie all completed
their first triathlon with respectable times.
Mackenzie won her age group as well and finished 6th
overall for the women. Also competing the swim
portion on a the relay was Luke Royal.
Former Marlins Swimmer and
University of the Cumberlands Swimmer, Taylor
Dotson, completed her first Triathlon!
Graham Duncan dropped 10 minutes off his
time from last year!
Marlins Assistant Coach,
Carl Brown, completed his third full triathlon at
Lakewood Valley!
