Hornaday Achieves National AAAA Time in 50 Free at Sectionals!

14 Year Old Senior Spartan Phenom, Kate Hornaday, swam a Lifetime Best Performance of 28.39 in the preliminaries of the 50 Meter Freestyle today at University of Georgia in Athens!  Kate recorded the fastest time in the state for 13-14 Girls heading into the Kentucky State Championships next weekend.  Her previous best was 28.90 at the Lakeside Meet.   Her 28.39 is a USA National AAAA time for 13-14 girls and converts to a 24.90 in short course yards.  This is Kate's first AAAA time standard.  She was ranked 92nd heading into the meet and moved all the way up to 60th place.

The 50 free also featured US Olympian Amanda Weir swimming for Swim Atlanta.  The Men's 50 free featured French National Champion Fred Bousquet as well as 4 other Olympians.  It was a great atmosphere and incredible state of the art facility.

Congratulations Kate on a successful Sectional Experience!
